There is often an interesting story behind a company’s history and what they have endured to become what they are today, so we thought we would share a bit about our story. Did you know that we were one of the first CENTURY 21 franchises in Canada? We’ve come a long way since our humble beginnings, but one thing has never changed: our dedication to families and our clients!
The company, and its predecessors, have been a prominent real estate company in the Vancouver area since 1954, and by 1975 they decided to expand and join the CENTURY 21 network as one of the first franchises in Canada. Bill Blackall has been a pioneer in the Real Estate and Property Management industry with over 40 years of experience and previous serving at the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver and is one of the founding members of Strata Property Agents of BC (SPABC). Since then the team has grown to over 40 staff and licensees and currently manages over 150 Strata Corporation’s throughout Greater Vancouver and Fraser Valley, as well as hundreds of rental properties.
Mike Blackall, current Vice-President and son of President William (aka Bill) Blackall, still had fond memories from visiting his Dad at the CENTURY 21 office in Richmond after school. Mike and his siblings Bryan and Darcie would have a blast playing with all the office equipment and were often found challenging each other to Nintendo in the boardroom. As Mike and his siblings grew up, they started helping out at the office after school doing odd jobs.
Mike took a particular interest in the family business and in 2009 he became an official member of the team while he was attending Langara College, followed by University at the Sauder School of UBC. He earned his real estate and property management licences in 2012 and earned his keep to rise in the ranks to his current role as Vice-President and managing broker, in charge of over 25 licensees, recruitment and training of new licensees, business development, and marketing.
The CENTURY 21 Prudential Estates (RMD) Ltd. team has been in the same office on Westminster Highway in Richmond, BC since 1991. Keeping it in the family, Bill assisted and was involved in all aspects of the construction of the office which was designed by his brother Ted Blackall.
